0n 7^th November 2013 Landmine incident occurred on road near area Hananburo village in Galgaduud region about 3.2Km, two brothers were died and the vehicle Driver injured. The victims were come back visit their sick father in a rural area as they drove in a shortcut road so as to reach main road. The nearly joint place for main road is the place below-up the mine and vehicle destroyed.

The average crater size explosion has made up Ø185X 90cm.

Identification:

There are no found a small piece of fragmentation came from detonation that indicates the type of mines. But some people have told us the type of Mine used in the areas was TM-46.

As the local people reported this mines laid down by oppositions against Siyad Barre in 1990s.  Other witness told us that these mines burried by local militia to prevent their neighbor clan.

Abdulahi Jim’ale is a former military who have been familiar with history of this town he said I believe this mine was laid down by militia at civil war so as to restrict the mobility of  their enemy in 1993 however, this information is more reliable in addition from 1992 up to 1998 more than ten accidents occurred in the areas, 25 people lost their life and other dozen were injured, also livestock affected and five vehicles destroyed, until know the local community  afraiding the threat of land mines and other  hazard of ammunitions which were used by civil war as remnants of war such as projectile and grenades, shells and bombs .

Around five hundreds anti-tank mines they believed had buried in an areas between 30km for any direction roads but nobody knows where it burred,

Cesmac Multi task Team-2 in Adaddo district Galgadud and regional authority with local media visited the accident location. The Multi task  team started to ask questions if there any frightened items of ammunitions or other UXOs.
